I have stayed at some of the top hotels in the world, all over Asia, Europe, the US,..

...and the Caribbean, and I can safely say that none of them have held a candle to this one. The neighborhood was like stepping back in time through the walls of the city,...

...yet still accessible from St. John's Gate. The lobby belonged in a magazine and led organically into the peaceful and beautiful courtyard. Our room, the Gulbin suite, was like something out of a fairy tale: immaculately decorated with antiques to feel like someone's luxurious home, yet filled with modern conveniences like the magical self-refilling mini bar, a modern bathroom, and a lofted bedroom where you sleep like a baby. Every detail in the property is beautiful, thought-out and of course absolutely spotless.

Breakfast in the morning was a luxurious feast of sweet, savory, the ever-present and always-delicious Greek yogurt, and of course juices and coffee. The evenings in the courtyard, with the bar set up and the music playing, were like being in another world.

The perk of having Nikos and his brilliant tablet, with GPS for your rental car and all the research already done for you, makes for a very relaxing trip. We were also able to get a spot at one of the best restaurants we have ever had the pleasure to eat at, Marco Polo. Nikos called ahead for us and were able to get a table when other parties were being turned away at the door.

What is there to say about the Best Hotel in the World, other than 'please don't everyone go stay there all at once so that they still have room for us next year'? We absolutely cannot wait to come back! Staying here was our best decision and it can be yours too!
