Subtle perfection in beautiful Rhodes Old Town

Kokkini Porta Rossa is as close to perfection that you could want in a cosy hostelry in a Mediaeval Town. Do not miss it.

Boutique hotels in the Old Town of Rhodes compete for the coziness and wow! factor in a smallish area that mainly attracts history, buffs, intellectuals, poets, and professionals. Rhodes Old Town is extremely atmospheric and pretty and evokes a bygone time like no other place in Greece. Places to stay are generally small, built of stone and seek to be very chic yet comfortable.

Kokkini Porta Rossa succeeds on all counts and is on of the best if not THE best small, luxury boutique hotel that caters to this specialist crowd. Located conveniently just inside the Kokkini Porta (Red Gate), this resurrected former ruin immediately assuages the visitor with its warm embracing interior not to mention the engaging smiles and warm energy of owners Nikos and Angela.

After a welcoming drink in the small, and greenery-draped courtyard you will be taken to a room where every detail has been thought out to the the last detail. You will be provided with your own personal Pad to navigate the labyrinthine streets of the Old Town as well as to find the best places to eat. Our room had a bed and sitting room up a wooden staircase and the bed was so comfortable. A large and airy bathroom sports a bathtub and shower, a fridge provides complimentary drinks soft and alcoholic and Wi-Fi is fast and free.

An imaginative breakfast is taken in the courtyard while late night returnees will find complimentary wines, spirits, and soft drinks laid out for you to help yourselves to before you hit your oh-so-soft bed.
