We were blown away by the style and beauty of literally everything.
We were really looking forward to a more relaxing atmosphere in Rhodes. We were not disappointed by the warm greetings we received by owners, Nikos and Angela. Their warmth and generosity made us feel right at home. It was the absolute peace and quiet that my wife and I had hoped for.
The hotel, being part of the old town, is a retrofitted gem that retained Rhodes' historical essence with a touch of class that truly reflects the characteristics of the owners. Our room was a spacious suite that had a huge bathroom equipped with a tub and a separate shower. Note to potential guests, there's a pillow menu on their website. We had windows that looked down into the beautiful courtyard and opposite ones that faced the little St. John church. It was a great way to start every morning with the sun light caressing the city wall and feel the sense of solitude exuded by the church.
Breakfast consisted of Greek yogurt with fresh fruits and some of the tastiest honey we have ever had. Eggs, traditional bread and pastries, with homemade juices, Angela can do no wrong by preparing you and your stomach for the day.
Nikos took care of us with car rental, tour guide, restaurant recommendations... We felt very happy with all of his suggestions. He steered us away from all the usual touristy stuff and always gave us practical choices. We knew we were in great hands even before we arrived with Nikos' prompt responses and constant communication.
We had two dinners at the hotel. If you want to dine in the atmosphere of a private chef I highly recommend it. They buy everything local and fresh on the day. The wine pairing by Nikos is excellent.
They even suggested a picnic at the actual moat, which we happily obliged and thoroughly enjoyed. Everything they prepared was perfect.
Beyond all that, we truly felt the sincerity and hospitality by both Nikos and Angela. We enjoyed our conversations with them, which were more than just about sightseeing. They were wonderful with our daughter and she fell in love with them. That itself is more than anything in the world to us. If we ever visit Rhodes again, they will definitely be one of the reasons.
