Our best hotel stay ever! Beautifully furnished common areas as well as our suite. All of the rooms were furnished with marvelous antiques and every modern amenity was available.

The facilities in this 14th century building inside the walls of Old Town Rhodes were spectacular. However, what stands out most of all was their genuine welcoming spirit.

Our experiences with Kokkini Porta Rossa began several months before our arrival when we made our original plans. On several occasions we received welcoming e-mail from Nikos enthusiastically offering suggestions and requesting information about us that would enable him to make our visit as wonderful as possible. Any questions or concerns we had prior to our arrival were quickly answered. We had a feeling that we were about to experience something far above the kind of quality one would hope to find. Upon arrival via a taxi that Nikos arranged for us, we were greeted at the front door by Nikos and his wife Angela. This felt more like a homecoming than a greeting.

Nikos had prepared an electronic pad with suggestions, directions and descriptions of points of interest on the island. It was very easy to use and proved to be very helpful. Angela greeted us with delicious hibiscus tea and cardamon cookies. Every morning a delicious breakfast was prepared and served by Angela. The selection varied every day leaving us intrigued as to what the next day might bring. Angela’s personal touch from the marmalades to the savory dishes were outstanding. In the evenings we were invited into their main salon to share drinks and snacks. The best part of those times was sharing time with them. Restaurant recommendations and reservations, excellent personal guided tours and our car rental were all taken care of by Nikos, always without fail.
